A production-grade storefront for an independent bookshop and small literary press: warm editorial design, a procedurally generated SVG book-cover system, reactive genre/format filtering, and a focus-trapped cart with localStorage persistence. Fully prerendered with SvelteKit, fast, accessible and self-contained.

What makes it special
Procedural cover system
Every book cover is inline SVG generated deterministically from its slug — a committed colour world and motif per genre — so a whole shelf reads as one designed collection with zero layout shift.
Reactive catalogue
A 20-book typed catalogue with instant, runes-powered genre + format filters and sort by new/title/price — no reloads, no flashes.
Real cart & checkout
An SSR-safe localStorage cart drives a focus-trapped slide-in drawer (Esc to close, aria-live badge), quantity steppers and a clearly-labelled two-step demo checkout.
Editorial craft throughout
A literary serif/sans pairing, an oxblood accent, paper grain, drop-caps and pull-quotes across home, shop, the press, events, journal and curated collections.
Accessible & static
WCAG 2.2 AA, full keyboard nav, reduced-motion fallbacks, self-hosted fonts with zero runtime network calls, and a fully prerendered export that runs at root or any subpath.
